What? You’re curious about me? ME? Really?
There’s not much to say.
- I’m a pale, green-eyed, curly-haired brunette.
- A girl (in case you didn’t notice).
- A wife. A mommy A Christian. A friend.
- I consider myself to be crafty. Disorganized yet Organized. Creative. Witty.
- I know I’m pessimistic. Sarcastic. Petulant. Vain. Self-doubting. But, I’m also Loyal.
- I’m a wanna-be knitter, a shower singer, a mediocre pianist, a reader of British Detective Fiction, and a writer of bad poetry.
- I’m a symmetry FREAK and a lover of antiques, architecture, and apple-betty.
Oh, that didn’t satisfy your need to know? Here’s the expanded version:
Why, “Hello,” and welcome to Following In My Shoes! My name is Rachel and I’ve have been an official blogger since 2005 — just a few short months after I married and entered the kingdom I like to call “Wifedom.”
Since becoming a grownup girl, I’ve worn a variety of professional hats: Residence Life Director for a state university, Marketing Coordinator, Personal Assistant, and (most recently) high-school English Teacher. Teaching is where I found my true calling, but I gave it up to stay at home with my beautiful little girl (and, as of August 2009, her baby brother). Most days, I love my new profession, but there are some days when dealing with hormonal, crazy, attention-deficit, love-struck 9th graders would be sooooooooo much easier.
When I quit teaching, Following In My Shoes became my connection with the outside world, allowing me the ability to write, think, read, laugh, and connect with other grown-up girls and boys.
Grown-up girl? Yeah, I haven’t quite resigned myself to being a woman . . . not yet.
Still want to know more? Oh, I’ve got options for ya, baby.
- {She’s} Following In My Shoes (the narrative behind my blog’s title)
- BE THE MATCH and I Hate Neuroblastoma (Things Important to Me)
And, finally, the two three people I discuss the MOST at Following In My Shoes:
(The Little Lady and Mr. Boy)
