A few weeks ago, our family was fortunate to receive an invitation to the Sea World San Antonio Bloggers Event.
While I had been to the Sea World in Orlando, FL, no one in our family had been to the park in San Antonio.
(Isn’t that pathetic? A bunch of fine Texans we are)
After spending over 13 hours at the park, I know one thing — we will DEFINITELY be back!
From Shamu to the Sea Lions, the Penguin Exhibit to the fantastic animal shows, there wasn’t a single dull moment. Even though we weren’t able to enjoy any of the rides (the poor Little Lady is just too short for any of them), there was still plenty to do.
We watched “Believe” (starring Shamu), the “Sea Lions Tonight” show (a hilarious show poking fun at different aspects of the park), and the “star” of Sea World San Antonio’s live entertainment — “Azul.” The newest show at Sea World, Azul features beluga whales, dolphins, live birds, and unbelievable acrobatics and diving stunts. I can’t even remember how many times our jaws dropped while we watched this show — it was simply stunning. We stayed to watch the night showing — in addition to the animals, music and humans, the show takes on a new level of spectacular by incorporating a gorgeous light show. It was a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful show!
The other highlight of our day was the “behind the scenes” tour we received where we learned more about the animal and environmental conservation programs Sea World has . . . AND where we fed sting-rays (by hand)!
Sea World San Antonio blew our expectations out of the water (honestly . . . no pun intended). The Little Lady STILL talks about our adventures there; of course, the 3 foot long stuffed Shamu, now sleeping in her bed, helps remind her of the day . . . from time to time.
