Stuffed Teddy Bear Biscuits
Kid-friendly lunch that will appeal to their eyes as well as taste-buds!
  • Biscuit Dough (scratch made or canned)
  • Desired Fillings*
  • Decorative Elements for the Eyes/Mouth**
  1. First, save a tiny portion of your dough for making the ears and noses of your teddy bear faces.
  2. If using scratch biscuit dough, roll out the dough out flat and then cut out circles. . . if using canned biscuits, flatten each biscuit (by hand or with a rolling pin).
  3. Next, fill the center of the dough with the meat and shredded cheese.
  4. Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the dough "sides" together to seal everything inside.
  5. If needed, gently roll the stuffed dough between your hands to create a round shape.
  6. Place each biscuit, sealed side down, on a baking sheet or pan.
  7. Next, pinch off small amounts of your saved dough to roll them to make the ears and noses.
  8. Gently press the ears onto the top of the stuffed biscuits -- I use the back of a small spoon to help press each ear to the biscuit.
  9. Add the noses, pressing gently around the base to help it stick to the stuffed biscuit.
  10. For a darker brown finish, brush each teddy bear face with an egg wash.
  11. Bake according to the recommended temperature and time settings for your biscuits/mix instructions.
  12. Remove and let cool.
  13. One cool, you can add additional decorations, such as candy eyes and mouth shapes. I cut my mouths out of a bit of Nori.**
*Any filling can be used: simple meats/cheeses, pizza or taco filling ... even leftover chicken and steamed veggies from dinner! **You can find Candy Eyes among cake decorating supplies.
