Confession time, y’all: I have NOT been in the mood for much lately. Cooking? No. Writing? No. Figuring out what the heck we’re gonna eat each meal? No.
Laundry? No. That’s why Barney Kneeknuckles wore some of his sister’s pink lined socks more than once last week.
(don’t judge)
I don’t know what it is but I just want to sit. Drink coffee. Pin beautiful things on Pinterest. Daydream. Actual work is taking a backseat while I’m at the wheel these days.
Oy. Lazy would probably sum it up best.
BUT … there are little people in my house with big voices. Big, SCREECHY voices who clamor for food — and one of them (ahem … Barney!) is going through a growth spurt and has morphed into an over-achieving Hobbit, demanding two breakfasts, two lunches, two dinners and lots of snacks in between.
Proof? The picture above…. his second dinner (a PB sandwich) that he demanded after downing a ginormous bowl of Paleo Chili. He’s insatiable and this kid is gonna be a MOOSE, y’all. I’m terrified of the teenage years!!!)
So, because of my desire to keep their whines for food to a minimum, I still menu-plan and cook each week, trying to find dinner ideas that meet my grain-free lifestyle AND their “we eat whatever the heck we want, Woman” lifestyles.
And then spend time day-dreaming when the evening ritual of “Whackamole” (aka Put the Kids To Bed and Make Them Stay There) is over.
Laundry? Um … yeah. Someday.
