Practical DIY Projects for Baby

If you have “fanned” Following In My Shoes on Facebook, you saw my announcement yesterday that I FINALLY chose the items for my last minute, “I Am Making THIS For Barney Kneeknuckles” project list.

I’ve been “pinning” practical project ideas to my boards on Pinterest for a few weeks now (p.s. Feel free to follow me on Pinterest – I LOVE that site; so awesome for sharing and saving ideas you find on the web).  There are so many fantastic DIY projects and tutorials out there for wee ones!  Here are the ones I’m going to “try,” as well as other favorites I would make . . . if I had more than FIVE WEEKS to get stuff done!

Thanks so much for including some of my tutorials!! I just wanted to say, though, that you can’t NOT make the swaddle blanket due to lack of time! Seriously it requires you to buy a yard of jersey fabric and cut it in half – that’s it!! It takes no time at all and you’ll love it :D

My mom made me one of the nursing covers and I absolutely love it! Makes me feel WAY more comfortable nursing in public rather than just throwing a blanket over my shoulder. That never worked so well for me…

    Cute projects!

WOW! That is a lot of projects, but so many great ideas. I am expecting a baby in December (our third girl) and I find that there isn’t much that I need. I’m thinking I could probably make some cute things for her instead. So much fun – thanks for posting!!

Yeah, I wish I had more time so I could take on more of this list. I don’t need a lot either (3rd here too), but I do need the things I listed at the top…I am hoping that one project a weekend will get me through it all!

Actually, I should have clarified that i am not making BOTH of the quilts I showed… I am still debating which one to make. Both both are fairly easy and I have made baby quilts before, so I am not worried about it.

Great list! can’t wait to see your finished items.

Do you need a nursing cover? I have one that I was going to sell at Rhea Lana’s this fall, but I would totally send it your way if you could use it.
