If you have followed my blog for any length of time, you know that adoption is a very beautiful part of our family. We adopted the Little Lady, using Christian Homes of Abilene to facilitate the process. Ours was a whirlwind adoption; we met her birthmother, Miss G, about 4 months before the Little Lady was born. FOUR MONTHS! That’s how long we had to get our house ready, take advantage of all the baby deals we could find, have home inspections, fill out paperwork, get fingerprints and background checks completed . . . WHIRLWIND.

Then, the day came and I found myself seated beside Miss G, both of us squinting under the bright lights of the operating room. A few minutes alter, I was squinting again — this time, trying to hold back tears as I watched the doctor pull the Little Lady out.

Motherhood and the color Pink had entered my life.

My friends Summer and Jason have decided to bring some pink to their home. The proud parents of two ADORABLE little boys, they are in the process of adopting a daughter from Ethiopia.

From their blog, The Cox Family Ragamuffins . . .

We are currently on the waiting list (3 MONTHS TODAY!!!) for a baby girl from Ethiopia. We have been told to expect an average wait time of 6-8 months before we receive a referral, but we could get THE CALL at any time.

We will need to make two trips to Ethiopia before we can bring her home and so while we’re waiting, we are raising the funds to make those two trips.

Adoption can be very expensive but we know that our God is bigger than that…He has called us to this and we are trusting Him to provide.

During the month of October, Summer and Jason are working hard to raise the necessary funds for their required trips through special coffee sales (yep, you can buy COFFEE from them) and shirt sales.

Through their partnership with Just Love Coffee Roasters and the Dubois Family and “Go. Seek. Love.” T-shirts, proceeds from both sales go directly to the Cox’s adoption fund.

That’s how we can help Summer and Jason bring home their own little glorious pink bundle.
