Last year, over a sea of crinkled and torn wrapping paper, my sisters and I decided that NEXT year we would only make our presents for everyone.
- No fighting our way through the smelly crowds at the mall.
- No typing of our credit card numbers into Amazon’s secure check-out (which, I’m especially not doing after their big FAIL this past week).
- No purchasing of commercial, generic, “anybody could have made” items.
NEXT year, we all sagely nodded, we will craft, hot-glue, sew, and bedazzle unique gifts for each other.
Guess what?
THIS year is NEXT year.
Our handmade Christmas is taking place NEXT month.
And I haven’t made a stinkin’ thing.
(unless you count the half of a scarf I made last February, which I totally do)
For the past two weeks, I’ve been scrambling — feverishly scouring the craft blogs, trying to decide what the heck I will be making for my beloved family.
After all those hours of searching, I still don’t have a clue what everyone will be getting, but I DO have a monster list of gift ideas and tutorials bookmarked. And, I’ve decided to share the links here.
(just in case there’s another fool who needs handmade gift ideas)
Starting tomorrow, each week I’ll share a different category of tutorials and ideas I’ve found during my blog hopping. And, if YOU have a tutorial or craft idea you’d like to share, let me know and I’ll include you!
(or, you know, if it’s super-duper cute, make it myself for myself a family member)
