In November, our little family experienced its first, thrilling hockey match — all four of us, sitting close to the ice, watching grown men skate, hit a puck, and hit each other.

We were hooked . . . especially the Little Lady, who fell head over heels in love with her “hockey boys.”

(sigh)

Being new to hockey, I wasn’t sure what the game would be like. . . . wasn’t sure if it would be fun or if we would all find ourselves bored.  We quickly learned there is nothing boring about the Houston Aeros.

The Houston Aeros know how to put on a family-friendly show — yes, family-friendly.  There are kid-appropriate games, lots of laughter . . . and the “hockey boys” are put in time-out (penalty box) when they’re bad.

So — family-friendly AND they reinforce behavior/consequence lessons.
