Hello, again. Remember me? I’m the curly-headed-practically-albino-woman behind this blog. Nice to see everyone. Yes, yes, I realize it’s been nearly a week since my last update. But, I’ve been a bit busy.
Busy not sleeping.
Last Thursday, I spent over ten hours on the road, with just little ol’ Max by my side. Ten hours — that’s how long it takes to drive across two states: Texas and Oklahoma.
At the end of the ten hours, I was grumpy, blurry-eyed, and ready to talk with someone other than my white, furry friend. . . and MORE than ready to sleep.
For the next few days, I spent my time catching up with sisters, nephews and my parents (and eating more of mom’s southern food than I care to admit), but I didn’t catch up on sleep.
My bedroom has also been the bedroom for my kidlets. Have you ever shared a room with a three year old and a one year old? Um . . .yeah . . . they don’t really sleep. Bathroom breaks, bottle breaks, cries for water, little heads INSISTING on using my head or chest for a pillow. A solid night sleep has certainly not been one thing I’ve enjoyed during my time at “Home.”
Despite my complaining in this post, I’m not really that bent out of shape over it.
That bit o’ sleep deprivation is the price for watching my children have a ball in the cool wind of Oklahoma — laughing at Gramie’s house and thrilling over Mauna and Pauda’s farm.
(yeah — we have weird names in this family for grandparents)
Losing a little sleep is worth it as I watch my children make memories.
