Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin Halloween Lunch Bento

[exceptional-citing quoted=”featured-bento” template=”bubble-gray-round” date=”” ](Stored in an Easy Lunchboxes container, with decorative elements purchased from Bento USA) Almond Butter & Grape Jelly Pumpkin Sandwich, Sugar Snap Peas and Homemade Cool Ranch Dip (stored in the Snoopy container), Chia Seed Energy Bites (behind the Snoopy head), Mango Yogurt with Fall Sprinkles, Grapes.[/exceptional-citing]

Last year, we started a new Fall Tradition: watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!”.  We make pizza, eat on the living room floor, and watch Linus wait and wait and wait for the Great Pumpkin.

Poor, Linus.

It’s one of the Kidlets’ favorite movies (along with just about every other Charlie Brown movie) and it just begs to be showcased in a Halloween Bento.  Nothing fancy — just simple Halloween food.

‘Cause that’s how I roll.

The Frightful Fall Blog Hop

I don’t normally post bentos more than once a week, but today is an exception … because today, I am joining in with a few Bento Bloggers for our annual Halloween (or Fall) Bento Hop!

And, as with last year, I feel highly inadequate when showcasing my lunches against their artistic abilities!  These women can carve vegetables and fruit into the scariest ghouls out there.

Me?  Eh.

I feel like a cheater because I pretty much only rely on picks or cookie cutters to make our bentos.  But, you know what, it works for me and many others who pack lunches for little Kidlets.  We all have our strengths and while I wish mine lay at the top of the creative food spectrum, it doesn’t and that’s ok.  I can make a cute, simple lunch that my Kiddos think is awesome … and as long as I don’t show them what other folks are making, we’re good. 😉

BUT … that doesn’t mean that YOU should avoid the jaw-dropping creations from my friends.  They are truly amazing and inspiring — they will definitely give you more than a few ideas if you want to make a creepy or cute themed lunch in a few weeks for Halloween!

Next up in the hop is my friend Christine, who has a fantastic blog focused on fun, healthy, nut-free food.  She’ll show you something great and allergen-free and then will direct you on to the next blogger creation.

So jump on board and get ready for some fun food!  (you can click on the button below to quickly visit Christine!)
