Each time someone leaves a comment on a meal planning post, saying something to the effect of “I wish planned our meals” or “I can’t imagine being this organized” … I’m left wondering “HOW do people get through their weeks WITHOUT a meal plan?“.
Maybe it’s just a matter of different priorities or maybe I am just more Type A than I ever realized when I was younger.
A plan? Keeps me sane during that 5 o’clock “Witching Hour” when the Kidlets are going nuts, begging for food while I try to cook dinner. Knowing what we are going to eat in advance each week? Saves me money when I shop since I’m not adding things all “willy nilly” into the cart.
When I was pregnant, having a post-baby meal plan and a deep-freeze full of easy freezer meals freed me from trying to cook and carry a baby during those hazy, hectic days of new motherhood.
If you look over my tips for creating a meal plan, you’ll find that it really, truly isn’t hard. Cross my heart.
